Summer at the Glyptotek
This summer you can experience great art and activites for both children and adults

Two of our current exhibitions
Discover the Glyptotek's french focus in the two exhibitions: 'Gauguin & Kihara – First Impressions' and 'Degas' Obsession'.
In 'Gauguin & Kihara – First Impressions' The Gauguin collection – including paintings, woodcarvings, drawings and ceramics – is joined by the Japanese-Sāmoan contemporary artist Yuki Kihara (b. 1975) and her video work First Impressions: Paul Gauguin. Together, their works open a dialogue across time, cultural divides and vast oceanic distances.
'Degas' Obsession' invites you inside the researchers’ laboratory. The exhibition is centred on Edgar Degas’ enigmatic painting Dancers Practising in the Foyer and the research that has recently led to a proposed revised dating of the work. Through the exhibition’s rooms, visitors are initiated into the painting’s mysteries as they follow the researchers’ discoveries.

Enjoy a break at the top of the Glyptotek
The museum café, Picnic, is back at the rooftop terrace.
You can once again enjoy refreshments and delicious snacks with a spectacular view of Copenhagen.
On the occasion of our two new French exhibitions the bar offers delicious French inspired snacks and drinks including duck confit, goat cheese, lemon cake, Kir Royal, French Spritz and lots of rosé from the Rhône.
Rooftop Thursdays
Every Thursday the museum is open until 8 pm and we turn the Glyptotek’s rooftop terrace into an atmospheric Thursday bar. To mark the opening of our two new exhibitions, music curator and DJ Mademoiselle Jekel has created a playlist from her collection of original French vinyl records. Invite your favorite people and enjoy a drink in the sun.

Summer holiday for children at the Glyptotek
During the summer holidays, children and their adults can explore the flowers and plants found in the Glyptotek's art and architecture and even design their own flowers.
Every day, the Glyptotek’s hosts will welcome you on the rugs in the Winter Garden. Here, you can create flowers out of colourful crepe paper to take home or plant in a communal flower bed. You can also sit and draw or colour. You can also join a guided tour, where you'll look for flowers and plants and hear great stories – and get inspired!
