Visit with Children
Find practical information for your visit with children

Practical Information
At the Glyptotek, children and their adults can explore the museum’s collections together. The museum is a place for thinking big or delving into tiny details.
Children under 18 get free admission to the museum.
What is Allowed at the Glyptotek?
Visiting a museum can be overwhelming if you constantly have to remind your child not to run, touch, or yell. Here are a few tips for a more relaxing experience.

Protectors of the Sculptures
Even big marble sculptures get worn down eventually if you touch them. They cannot withstand the natural oils on our skin – even if our hands are clean. That’s why you become protectors of the sculptures when you avoid touching them.

Move Around the Museum
You do not have to walk around the museum stiff as a board. You can sit down and look at the ceiling, mimic a sculpture with your own body, or touch the floors and railings, which are made of the same materials as the sculptures. You can walk around like an emperor who owns the entire museum.
Relax
The Glyptotek is filled with details and information, and it’s a unique place with a special atmosphere.
There are many impressions for both children and adults, especially the first time you visit the museum. Remember to take breaks and take things one step at a time.
For many children, the goldfish in the Winter Garden are the biggest attraction. It’s a great place to start, and if you don’t see much more, you can always come back another time.

Prams and Pushchairs
During your visit you can borrow, free of charge, a pushchair in the museum’s basement at the cloakroom and ticket counter. Because of entry, exit and security considerations visitors may not use their own prams or pushchairs. Smaller pushchairs can be left in the basement, while prams must be parked outside the museum’s entrance: our attendants in the entrance hall will gladly lend you a lock.
Due to level differences and stairs in the museum, the visit may involve lifting the pushchair, so we also recommend visiting the museum with the very youngest in a baby carrier.

Baby Changing Facilities
You will find one baby-changing area in the basement by the cloakroom and ticket counter and another at the entrance to the Henning Larsen Building.
If you want to bring baby-changing equipment into the museum, please note that larger bags must be deposited in the cloakroom at the ticket counter for security reasons.
You can always ask at the ticket counter for guidance.

Season Ticket for Children
The Glyptotek is a place filled with exciting stories, creative inspiration and mythical creatures.
Children can get their own season tickets and explore the museum as well as the many children’s activities as often as they like – and bring an adult of their choice for free each time!
Get your season ticket at the ticket counter during your next visit or buy online.
