Carl’s Great Love. Museum Highlights

The story of the Glyptotek is inextricably linked to Carl Jacobsen’s passion for sculpture. Music, a semi-nude marble woman playing a violin, was his first love. The more Carl collected, the more ‘love affairs’ he had. In 1888, he donated his vast collection of sculptures and art to the Danish state, paving the way for the Glyptotek. Today the museum houses a world-class collection of sculptures from antiquity and ancient Egypt, and French and Danish sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Booking and Prices

Please book the tour no later than 14 days in advance through the website. This private tour costs 1.100 DKK The price does not include admission to the museum. You can choose to pay by EAN number or credit card. Payment is only processed after the tour has ended, but the payment method must be provided when booking. Please note that groups must arrive and pay together in order to receive the group discount on admission.
