Culture Night at the Glyptotek – Amulets and Talismans
Friday, 10 October at 6 pm to 12 midnight

Enter a world of magic at the Glyptotek!
On Culture Night, we delve into the fascinating history and significance of amulets—small objects that have served as symbols of fortune and protection across cultures and centuries.
Discover the scarabs and faience god figures of ancient Egypt, believed to bring luck and shield their owners, and the Roman Medusa amulets worn to ward off evil spirits and safeguard the bearer.
You can also explore the Glyptotek’s newly opened special exhibition by contemporary artist Alia Farid, who incorporates amulets, talismans, and faience into her art, breathing new life into these ancient symbols in a modern context.
Create your own lucky amulet in our amulet workshop in the Grand Hall, where hosts will be ready to guide you (while supplies last).
After immersing yourself in history and creativity, enjoy a delicious meal and refreshments in the museum café.
The full program will be announced continuously.
Admission to the Glyptotek on the evening requires a Culture Pass. Buy it online or at 7-Eleven stores in September.
