Sunday tour at 12.30 pm at the Glyptotek

The story of the Glyptotek is inextricably linked to Carl Jacobsen’s passion for sculpture.

Music, a semi-nude marble woman playing a violin, was his first love. The more Carl collected, the more ‘love affairs’ he had. In 1888, he donated his vast collection of sculptures and art to the Danish state, paving the way for the Glyptotek. Today the museum houses a world-class collection of sculptures from antiquity and ancient Egypt, and French and Danish sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries. The tour visits all the different individual collections, spotlighting the Glyptotek’s must-see highlights.
