Every Sunday you can join exciting guided tours in the museum's collections (in Danish).
The guided tours are free once the entrance fee is paid. Tickets cannot be booked in advance. They are available in the ticket office on the day. We do not issue tickets to groups of more than five persons. We advise larger groups to book a private guided tour.
This summer you can experience great art and activites for both children and adults
The museum café, Picnic, is back on the rooftop terrace.
In June, July and August you can enjoy refreshments and delicious snacks with a spectacular view of Copenhagen and Tivoli.
Brewer Jacobsen wanted the Glyptotek to bring a little piece of Paris to Copenhagen. This is reflected in the bar's menu, which offers delicious French inspired snacks and drinks, including duck confit, salmon rillettes with roasted fennel seeds and piment d’Espelette.
Every Thursday the museum is open late and we will turn the Glyptotek’s rooftop terrace into an atmospheric Thursday bar with French tunes in the background. Invite your favorite people and enjoy a drink at the top of the Glyptotek.

Animals Take the Stage - Sculptures by Antoine-Louis Barye
Get up close to the animals in the Glyptotek’s collection of 34 small bronze sculptures by French artist Antoine-Louis Barye (1795-1875). The exhibition is for both children and adults.
Palmyra
Earlier this year, a new permanent exhibition opened at the Glyptotek. The exhibition revolves around Palmyra – the flourishing oasis city and trading hub of the ancient world. Centred on the museum’s exceptional collection of Palmyrene funerary portraits – the largest of its kind outside Syria – the exhibition tells the story of life, death and memory in Palmyra.
Come by this spring and experience both exhibitions.

Every Saturday and Sunday, children and their adults can experience the art through guided tours, stories and creative activities.
Join our hosts on a journey through the museum, sharing stories that bring the art to life for both kids and grown-ups.
You’ll find our hosts in the sculpture hall behind the café, near the statue of Perseus slaying Medusa. Here, you’re welcome to settle in, put on headphones, and listen to tales while your hands stay busy. Sometimes we draw, other times we build small sculptures using different materials.
Every weekend at 11 am – 3 pm.
Guided tours at 11.30 am and 2 pm (in Danish).
