Every Sunday you can join exciting guided tours in the museum's collections (in Danish).
The guided tours are free once the entrance fee is paid. Tickets cannot be booked in advance. They are available in the ticket office on the day. We do not issue tickets to groups of more than five persons. We advise larger groups to book a private guided tour.
This summer you can experience great art and activites for both children and adults
The museum café, Picnic, is back on the rooftop terrace.
In June, July and August you can enjoy refreshments and delicious snacks with a spectacular view of Copenhagen and Tivoli.
Brewer Jacobsen wanted the Glyptotek to bring a little piece of Paris to Copenhagen. This is reflected in the bar's menu, which offers delicious French inspired snacks and drinks, including duck confit, salmon rillettes with roasted fennel seeds and piment d’Espelette.
Every Thursday the museum is open late and we will turn the Glyptotek’s rooftop terrace into an atmospheric Thursday bar with French tunes in the background. Invite your favorite people and enjoy a drink at the top of the Glyptotek.

Saturday and Sunday: 11 am – 4 pm. Opening hours in July and August

Animals Take the Stage - Sculptures by Antoine-Louis Barye
Get up close to the animals in the Glyptotek’s collection of 34 small bronze sculptures by French artist Antoine-Louis Barye (1795-1875). The exhibition is for both children and adults.
Palmyra
Earlier this year, a new permanent exhibition opened at the Glyptotek. The exhibition revolves around Palmyra – the flourishing oasis city and trading hub of the ancient world. Centred on the museum’s exceptional collection of Palmyrene funerary portraits – the largest of its kind outside Syria – the exhibition tells the story of life, death and memory in Palmyra.

'Animals Take the Stage. Sculptures by Antoine-Louis Barye'
Once again, the Classical Summer Concerts are delighted to present a range of world-class musicians, performing amongst the Roman gods and heroes in the Glyptotek’s atmospheric Central Hall.
Experience some of Denmark’s most acclaimed classical musicians.
The summer concerts take place every Sunday in August and September from 12:00 to 13:00.
Behind the star-studded program are Julie Eskær, 1st concertmaster of the Danish Entertainment Orchestra and chamber musician, and Ingemar Brantelid, chamber musician and former solo cellist of the Royal Danish Orchestra.

The Glyptotek is full of animals – from Egyptian gods to the current exhibition Animals Take the Stage. Sculptures by Antoine-Louis Barye.
All summer long, we will be making animal sculptures and going on mini tours around the museum to explore animal life. Learn the technique of creating sculptures from paper and get inspiration from our family hosts during your visit.
